Bruno Eckhardt

It is with great sadness that we inform of Professor Bruno Eckhardt’s passing on August 7, 2019, resulting from complications after a surgery. At the time of his decease, Bruno Eckhardt was a member of the Congress Committee (since 2010), the Executive Committee of the Congress Committee (since 2012), and the General Assembly (since 2018) of IUTAM. He made important contributions to the theory of chaotic systems and transition to turbulence. His premature passing is a huge loss for both IUTAM and the scientific community as a whole.
