Meeting of the General Assembly of IUTAM in 2022

The General Assembly of IUTAM met in person on 22 and 23 August 2022 in Cambridge, UK. General Assembly members who were unable to join the meeting in person had the option to participate as online observers via ZOOM. The meeting was organized and chaired by the IUTAM President Norman Fleck. The meeting went smoothly, without any major difficulties.

The agenda of the meeting encompassed the items traditionally addressed at General Assembly meetings between ICTAMs, including:

  • reports by the Secretary-General, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Congress Committee;
  • decisions on annual dues, matters regarding adhering, associate and affiliated organizations, and future IUTAM Symposia and Summer Schools;
  • elections of new members of the Congress Committee and Symposia Panels; the election results take effect from November 1, 2022 and will be introduced to the IUTAM website at the end of October.

Additionally, the agenda included the following special points:

  • discussion and resolution on diversity in IUTAM;
  • discussion and decision on the planned incorporation of the IUTAM association in the Netherlands.
