IUTAM values Diversity as a supporting principle for pursuing the objectives of IUTAM and maintaining the highest standards in all its activities. The International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) was founded in 1946 as an international non-governmental non-profit scientific organisation. On 4 November 2022 it was incorporated as an Association with full legal status in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
